Ashling Murphy Vigil

This is my coverage of a vigil held for the late Ashling Murphy outside Leinster House in Dublin.

Ashling Murphy, a 23 year old primary school teacher and musician, was attacked and killed while out for a jog on January 12th 2022. Almost 100 vigils were held across Ireland and other countries in honour of her memory. President Michael D. Higgins and Taoiseach Micheál Martin were amongst those who paid tribute to the young woman. Her death raised the topic of violence against women, with Women's Aid Ireland demanding a zero tolerance policy.
